Prairie Restoration

Restoring your land to a prairie has many benefits over leaving it as a lawn or overgrown lot. Lawns take more time and money to maintain than prairie in the long term.

Prairies attract a diversity of wildlife increasing the health of an ecosystem. A common misconception of prairies is that they are nothing more than a field of allergy-causing weeds. In fact, prairies are extremely endangered ecosystems that include a wide variety of rare wildflowers, grasses, birds, insects and mammals. A restored prairie will increase the health of your land and reduce pests.

Historically, prairies dominated the southern Wisconsin landscape. By restoring your land to prairie you will own a little of Wisconsin's rich natural history.
